Recently some users have complained that Android is not working correctly. I worked with one user (thank you Mike!) and noticed a couple of issues.
When connecting with Android.
- Click on the Connect Device over Bluetooth
- Make sure that the Mac is not visible in the Android device saved bluetooth devices
- Initiate the pairing from the Mac
- Wait till the pairing is complete (requires confirmation on the android device)
- Press select on the Mac
At this point is where one of the problems I noticed appears.
Sometimes the easiest solution is wait for 5 seconds after you select the Android device to control before you try to launch it. If it fails to launch the first time, try to launch it a couple of times.
Sometimes this happens:
The connection with the Mac is complete, and the device is showing in the Mac; but on the Android devices, when you click on saved devices it does not show the Mac.
The way to fix this is to:
- Click on the Connect device over Bluetooth
- When you see the android device in the list, click on the X on the right side of the device. This will forget the android device.
- Wait for the device to re-appear, then pair again.
- After pairing make sure that the Mac name shows in the Saved Devices list.
- Click select.
- It should now work.
If it still does not work, exit the KeyPad application and launch it again. Somehow this seems to work, but I don’t know why.
If it still does not work, there is something more wrong. Please reach out to me at tools@toolbunch.com and I will try to fix it.
