Thank you for my users who pointed out that my standard installation approach does not work with the Meta Quest. Please try these instructions.
- In Settings, click on “Connect device over Bluetooth…”
- This will start broadcasting that the Mac is a “Keyboard”
- On the Quest, go to Settings | Devices | Bluetooth
- Select the Mac from Available devices and Pair with it
- You will need to complete the pairing on the Mac and the Quest.
- Now you will see the Meta Quest in the bluetooth device selection dialog on the Mac
- If you don’t see it, close the dialog, and relaunch it by pressing “Connect device over Bluetooth…”
- Select the Meta Quest in the dialog box and press select
- You will now have the Quest listed in the KeyPad Settings
Launch KeyPad from the Toolbar Menu and select the Quest (or double click on the list in Settings). Your quest should work.
